Trail running in Saxon Switzerland - advanced runners
Dear course participants, in this course we want to show you the beauty of trail running and run off paved roads and paths on narrow forest trails.
While road running often focuses on standardised values such as distance, running pace or heart rate, trail running is all about the running experience itself. The ground and terrain are constantly changing, sometimes you run on stones, sometimes on grass, sometimes over roots, sometimes uphill and sometimes downhill. Body and mind are equally alert and challenged.
Our territory is the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in the border region between Germany and the Czech Republic. We will explore not only the remote corners of the national park, but also the surrounding table mountains and narrow valleys on varied trails. The tours are planned to be experience-orientated. Viewpoints are just as much a part of the trail run as relaxed, group-orientated running. Nevertheless, the sport should take centre stage, and technically demanding running passages alternate with relaxed forest trails. You're also welcome to run up one or two hills, and of course everyone will be waited for at the top.
The course comprises 6 running sessions. We will start slowly and try to conjure up a little more excitement and technique on the routes with each session. The distance will be around 17-20 kilometres, whereby up to approx. 1000 metres in altitude can be added in the later laps. Occasionally we offer the particularly ambitious a second part of the course afterwards, so that both beginners and experienced riders get their money's worth. Detailed information on the individual course dates with departure times and the route will always be sent out by email 2-3 days in advance. We will meet at Dresden Central Station and travel together by S-Bahn to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
By clicking on the name of the course leader, you can send your questions about the course directly to him or her. And if you click on the period, you will get an overview of all course information, such as course days and course location.
