The courses are offered in 2 time blocks during the TUD lecture period and run for eight weeks per time block.
For time block B, participants from time block A must register again. The principle is that participants in the beginners' course from block A can switch to the advanced course in block B.
To enable this continuation for participants from the A block, the advanced course in time block B is provided with a password for registration, which participants from time block A receive from their course instructor.
If the participants from block A do not book the advanced course in time block B, the free course places in block B can be booked by new participants.
When enrolling in the courses, please note the course descriptions below and only enrol in the course for which you have the relevant prerequisites.
Beginners' course
One of the most beautiful hobbies: DANCING! Whether 2/4 time, 3/4 time or 4/4 time - we will show you the first steps and figures in the dances Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot/Quickstep, Discofox as well as Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive and Salsa. The prerequisite is that you register in pairs and enjoy moving together to the music of standard and Latin American dances.
Advanced course
You can already dance the first steps and figures in the standard and Latin American dances Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot/Quickstep, Discofox as well as Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive and Salsa to the beat of the music? Then you've come to the right place. We will show you other interesting moves that build on the beginners' course. In addition, we will expand the repertoire of dances from the beginners' course to include tango and samba. The prerequisite is that you have mastered the contents of the beginners' course.
Advanced course(s)
Have you mastered the basic figures in the standard and Latin American dances Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot/Quickstep, Tango as well as Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and want even more? Then these courses are just right for you. In the advanced courses, we expand the repertoire of figures of the dances you have learned so far and show you the first steps in Slow Foxtrot and Paso Doble. Please note: The advanced courses A, B and C are of the same level, but mainly include different figures! Prerequisites are the contents of the beginner and advanced course.
This course is also open to former dance students with previous knowledge.
Hobby course
Our hobby course is suitable for all dancers who have at least one year of dance experience. You should have a good command of the standard and Latin American dances Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot/Quickstep, Tango, Slow Foxtrot as well as Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba, Paso Doble. The aim of this course is to learn new and more demanding figures, to improve your own technique and fitness and, if necessary, to put what you have learned into practice in a joint choreography.

Block B: 06.01.2025 to 02.03.2025 (booking start for participants from block A with password on 11.12.2024/ booking start for remaining places without password 18.12.2024 (students & employees) / 19.12.2024 (external participants)
