Our chess courses offer you two types of the “royal game” to learn and practise. On the one hand there is classical chess, in which games are played, and on the other hand there is chess composition, in which chess problems have to be solved in just a few moves.
You can find more information below. The course name tells you when and for how long each course takes place.

Chess composition
Do you fancy spectacular chess, but don't want to cram opening theory? Then try problem chess - a unique combination of art and puzzles that can even be played competitively.
A chess composition (also known as a chess problem) is a devised task. It usually consists of a chess position, a demand (e.g. “mate in two moves”) and the solution to the problem. Normally, the usual chess rules apply.
The roots of this form of dealing with chess, often referred to as problem chess, go back to the beginnings of chess. Over the last 150 years, chess composition has largely taken on a life of its own through specialization. It is sometimes referred to as artistic chess in order to emphasize its aesthetic side.
