Course description: Basic sailing course
The introductory sailing course for beginners is designed for those new to the sport of sailing, with little or no prior experience. The goal is to enable participants to rig and sail a boat independently under the supervision of a sailing instructor. Three RS Venture boats are available. The course always lasts one week.
The course takes place at our partner organization, the 1. WSVLS in Geierswalde. There, you have the option to stay in shared rooms (4 or 6 people, accommodation cost per night: 12.50 euros) or in your own tent on the lawn by the boathouse (accommodation cost per person: 5.00 euros). A fully equipped kitchen is available on site for your use. A stove, oven, coffee maker, etc. are all provided.
When registering for the course, please also indicate whether you will be staying in a shared room or in a tent.
Please bring your own bedding!
Proficiency in German at a native level is absolutely essential for safety reasons! It is also mandatory that participants be able to float independently for 5 minutes or swim 100 meters freestyle!
Private liability insurance is also required.
It is also possible to travel by train. The journey takes about 90 minutes; the destination station is Schwarzkollm, and from there it is a 20-minute bike ride to the lake.
