Kickboxing is a fair one-on-one combat sport governed by strict rules. Permitted techniques vary depending on the federation, but generally include kicks and punches, often knee strikes, and catching an opponent's kicks to bring them to the ground. Clinching—briefly holding an opponent to control distance—is also common. Target areas include the head, body, legs, and arms.
The sport demands an exciting mix of physical and mental skills: balance, explosiveness, strength, endurance, finesse, speed, agility, tactical thinking, risk assessment, composure, spontaneous problem-solving, creativity, perseverance, and more.
This very diversity is what makes kickboxing so fascinating—it allows everyone to incorporate their own character and personal strengths into their individual style.
If you've always wanted to try martial arts but haven't dared to—or if you're looking for a new physical and mental challenge with motivated teammates—now is the perfect opportunity!
Content / Focus:
This first block of the kickboxing course in Tharandt focuses on the basic techniques as well as the necessary fitness, strength, and endurance required for kickboxing.
Here's how a training session works:
After a short warm-up, we'll work on the day's techniques – first with trainer feedback, then in playful partner drills. Afterward, you can expect an intensive endurance and strength training session. We'll finish with mobility exercises and some free time on the mat.
The free mat means you can stretch, practice techniques, spar, or simply relax and chat with the others.
The best part: You don't need your own equipment! You only need appropriate protective gear for sparring. All exercises are designed to be individually adapted to your fitness level. Whether you're a beginner or advanced – everyone can participate and make progress.
Everyone is welcome in this course, and I'm happy to adjust the training based on feedback. I look forward to seeing you!
