Course description for the courses at the University Hospital:
AcroYoga is fun!!!
Discover the diverse world of AcroYoga! A dynamic combination of yoga, partner acrobatics, and relaxation.
Together, base, flyer, and spotter playfully learn to connect individual asanas, which can then be used in a variety of flows (sequences of multiple asanas).
Whether in beginner, advanced beginner, or intermediate courses, you will develop both physical and mental strength—and above all, trust in yourself and your group! =)
Signing up with a partner is not required, as we form changing teams during the course and rotate the roles of base, flyer, and spotter.
We’re looking forward to seeing you! – Lisa, Gabi, Lisa, Norbert, Lena & Flo =)
P.S.: If you’re unsure which course is right for you, feel free to contact us via the contact form.
Beginner Course (Level 1):
Would you like to try AcroYoga for the first time or get back into it after a break? Then this course is perfect for you!
The goal of this course is to develop a good body awareness in the asanas while enjoying movement, playful lightness, and practicing together as a group. The course is aimed at anyone who wants to get to know or rediscover AcroYoga in an open and appreciative atmosphere.
Each session begins with a playful warm-up and joint preparation to get your body ready for the exercises. Afterwards, you will learn the basics of AcroYoga, such as positions (asanas) like Bird, Throne, or Sidestar. From the very beginning, we practice in groups of three: base, flyer, and spotter. Trust and respectful interaction are at the core. A relaxed cool-down completes each session.
We look forward to sharing our joy of AcroYoga with you!
Lisa & Gabi
Advanced Beginner Course (Level 2):
Have you already completed one or more beginner AcroYoga courses (at TU or elsewhere), or do you have excellent body tension and awareness from similar activities (yoga, climbing, dancing, etc.)?
Can you perform Sidestar, have successfully tried Star, and smoothly transition between Bird, Throne, Shin Stand, and Whale?
Then this course is just right for you! :)
In this course, we will build on the fundamental principles of AcroYoga and the elements learned in the beginner course (such as Bird, Throne, Sidestar, Star).
Each session is divided into two parts. In the warm-up section, we include group dynamic games to get to know each other, strengthen group awareness, and build trust, as well as occasional yoga and strengthening solo and/or partner exercises to improve individual skills in preparation for AcroYoga.
In the partner acrobatics section, we practice individual asanas (positions) within the group (base, flyer, spotter) and then combine them into sequences. Classic AcroYoga flows or “washing machines” such as Ninja Star, Trapdoor, 4-Step, Corkscrew, or Barrel Roll will be taught.
If time allows, each session ends with some stretching and/or relaxation. The concept of consent between all participants is always a key focus throughout the course.
Great to have you with us! We’re looking forward to it.
Lisa & Norbert :)
Intermediate – Free Training:
The new “free training” course offers space for shared AcroYoga exchange and independent practice. After a joint warm-up, you can work on your own projects, try out new ideas, and support each other. If desired, the instructors are available to provide input, individual tips, or assistance.
It is recommended that you have already tried washing machines such as Ninja Star, 4-Step, and Throne Rotation.
We’re looking forward to seeing you! :)
